You free your mind in your androgyny (c) Garbage

I was called a tomboy this week, and though this isn't by any means as a first, I found it to come as quite a shock because this came from someone that I had recently met. Why the fact that this coming from a new individual was such a shock was because I thought I was much more feminine then I was back in the day. I have come a LONG way from when I would walk out of the door heading to High School and my Mom would say... "You're gonna wear THAT to school?" (mind you my Mom was an extremely rugged female being the only girl amongst four brothers, that recently in her latter years turned priss). HOWEVER I now realize that just because I am more feminine, doesn't mean that I am not a tomboy, I'm just EVOLVING lol. I decided to get a consensus from a couple people; two that I have known FOREVER (my lil bro and best friend) and a couple from people that I hadn't known quite as long.

My lil brothers answer: "You don't look like one, but you act like one." I suppose that I am content with that answer... Looks can be deceiving should be tattooed on my forehead because I know that deep down I am not at ALL what I appear to be.

My best friends answer: "I definitely don't think you are a tomboy anymore... You are borderline prissy." Mind you, he thinks that I am not a tomboy anymore because I recently discovered a love for eyeshadow. He is so used to uber rugged Meezy that I suppose he can't see that I am expanding my horizons.... growing, if you will... lol. My brother found the whole "prissy" allegation to be complete blasphemy.

J's answer: "I think you are a tomboy, you're just one who likes makeup, pumps, and the occasional freakum dress.... I mean you play sports, like sports, and rock sneakers and play video games. All of which are boy activities." Now of course the sociologist in me disagreed with the things J listed as being "boy activities" but I digress.

I guess you learn something new everyday... I suppose to the world, Meezy is a tomboy. I am not labeling myself, even though I get typecasted all the time... :-p but one thing I do know is that I am NOT prissy! lol

I was watching a Chelsea Lately rerun that I had DVR-ed and forgot about and SHIRLEY MANSON WAS ON IT!!!! I love her... It was delightful... That is what prompted the title of this blog, and the randomness of this video below being on this post.

Oh MY GOD!! (c) Carol Ann

So, I was going to drive all the way home to meet Mr. Smith but I had to be responsible and stay in Columbus for school/work. Carol Ann DEFINITELY made it up to me by having Will Smith call my phone... :)

This happened WAY back in November when Mr. Smith did his multiple city tour promoting Seven Pounds... I apologize for taking so long for me to post it up here :)

SONG OF THE WEEK!!!

Artist: The Black Kids ft. Lil Wayne
Song Title: I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You

You know everything gets popular when you put Weezy on a track... Anywho, I enjoyed this song minus Weezy, but I do happen to enjoy the remix as well :)

IRRESPONSIBLE WHITE PERSON WEDNESDAY

CHRISTY AND MICHAEL

This is a video of a couple of Dominoes employees doing some triflin stuff to the food they plan on delivering to others... Apparently they later told their boss that this video was purely a joke and that they would never do things like this to actual people's orders... However, joke or not their stupidity resulted in them getting FIRED... With all the IWP's that I have encountered this week, you two have without a doubt earned this coveted (ok, so maybe coveted is a HUGE stretch) spot.

She get it from her mama! (c) Juvenile

I have come to terms with the fact that in the Lou I shall ALWAYS be referred to as "Carol Ann's daughter..." Below are a couple of pics of her and I at her client's establishment (The Loft)... She was working to promote Majic 105's Happy Hour with Tony and I was put to work taking snapshots of the event for the promotions team. There's never a dull moment with Carol Ann I tell ya... So much for coming to the Lou and just chillin out avec ma mere... I swear our roles have always been reversed... I'm the old lady, and she's the young hip one always on the go. Why oh why does she get to be so much cooler than I am...? NOT FAIR!!! *runs away from screen pouting*

Me and Ma Mere

Some pretty amazing ladies that wanted to take a pic with the "photographer" lol

You're DESPICABLE!!! (c) Daffy Duck

Well, after six years of the run around the nut job also known as Phil Spector was finally charged with murder today. I can't say I'm shocked that it took this long, despite the fact that Mr. Spector said "I think I killed somebody" to police while in custody. He will be formally sentenced on the 29th of May so stay tuned....

The HuSTLe City (c) The History Channel

So it's Easter, and in the typical negro fashion I am congregating with fellow family members over pork and other various greasy foods. So, it's time to settle down and watch a movie, and after a few minutes of deliberation my cousin Siera and I settle on Doubt or Choke (bootlegs of COURSE), my family however wasn't having that and opted to watch a documentary about our very own town...

So I stayed home on Saturday night (because I am cheap and don't have DVR) just to watch the Yeah Yeah Yeahs perform on SNL and I was NOT disappointed... Even though I REALLY wanted them to perform Heads Will Roll I was content with the performance of their unrefuted breakthrough hit Maps along with their first single from their latest album, Zero... Here's a funny backstage interview that I found... I've been looking EVERYWHERE for their SNL performance of Zero to post, but I have had no luck... There are a few clips of the perfomance in this lil interview though... ENJOY!

I <3 Karen Orzolek!

I don't wanna grow up (c) Toys R Us Commercials

So I love adult cartoons, I get the best of both worlds; the innocence of animation coupled with the undertones of vulgarity... It's just great! And that is why I am looking forward to Sit Down, Shut Up. It premieres on Fox on April 19th at 8:30pm joining the likes of The Simpsons and Family Guy... Wanna know the best part? The show was set up my MITCH HURWITZ! For those of you that don't know he is the creator of Arrested Development, a show that you must familiarize yourself with at ONCE if you have no clue what I'm talking about. A few of the cast members of Arrested Development will be voicing the characters of Sit Down, Shut Up and I am VERY excited about that. Arrested Development has somewhat of a cult following... Check out the cast of Sit Down, Shut Up below as they play on the pressure of having to live up to the amazingness that was Arrested Development...

SONG OF THE WEEK!!!

So it's a rainy day in the Lou... and I decided to post a song that correlated with the weather...

Song Title: I Don't Know
Artist: Beastie Boys
It's really hard to believe this is the Beastie Boys upon first listen... It's so mellow, and that's why I love it!

Rain or shine I will be at THE GRAMOPHONE FOR THE FALL OUT tonight at 8pm, all the cool kids are going... Well, perhaps on second thought, I should not be in attendance if that is the criteria... Nonsense, I'll BE THERE and YOU SHOULD TOO!
