I heard an interview with Lauryn Hill on NPR and I instantly got excited! Unfortunately I was on my “blog hiatus” so I regret not bringing this info to you sooner… HOWEVER, I was lucky enough to find some of the text of the interview and the full recorded interview online so I figured I’d share it…
On Why She Stopped Putting Out Music:
“There were a number of different reasons. But partly, the support system that I needed was not necessarily in place. There were things about myself, personal-growth things, that I had to go through in order to feel like it was worth it. In fact, as musicians and artists, it’s important we have an environment — and I guess when I say environment, I really mean the [music] industry, that really nurtures these gifts. Oftentimes, the machine can overlook the need to take care of the people who produce the sounds that have a lot to do with the health and well-being of society, or at least some aspect of society. And it’s important that people be given the time that they need to go through, to grow, so that the consciousness level of the general public is properly affected. THE BAD SEED is this week’s MMM… I have loved this movie ever since I can remember… It’s the precursor for all movies involving demon children (The Good Son, The Omen, Oprhan, etc.) Don’t let the black and white fool you… it is straight up GANGSTARRR and one of my fav movies of alllll time (no Yeezy). :)

So yesterday I put out an SOS on twitter because I had absolutely NO ONE to go see Inception with at midnight and I have been waiting for this movie to be released for well over a year… Luckily for me, someone answered my call (thanks Lisa!)… So, we decide to meet up at the Loews on 600 N. Michigan and I get there a little early because I wanted to grab something to eat…. I am on the phone talking to @KappaGamerGuy16 and this cop stops me and says “Excuse me Miss, you’re walking on set.” I would’ve been confused as to what set this officer was talking about but then I remembered that I had received THIS…
last week from my job via email…. I felt so dunce… I saw all these cars that looked like they had been set on fire, and these random semi-truck’s… It didn’t even hit me! I took some pics… But I am sad to report that their were NO SIGNS of Shia or real Transformers… Lol… Anyway, enjoy the pics! :)
Back to what this post was ORIGINALLY about *I have a really hard time staying on track….* INCEPTION! The movie did not disappoint… I am a Christopher Nolan STAN… In a day and age where EVERY movie coming out is in some way shape or form a remake… Whether the original be a book, classic movie, short story, etcetera it is refreshing to have a unique story line… Though I know nothing is truly ever original… Every idea comes from somewhere… This movie is the closest thing I’ve seen to an original script in a good while. Christopher Nolan has you all up in your mental mind in this one lol… The special effects were top notch (yay for no 3-D… it was visually stimulating WITHOUT having to rely on it), the fight scenes were great… I am indeed pleased! I’m sure people will say that Mr. Nolan was trying too hard to be “profound” but I truly believe that the movie can be enjoyed on a surface level as well as on a deeper one… I will without a doubt see it again! :)
**There was a guy with a Tri-pod sitting DIRECTLY in front of us in the theater… Because of this Lisa said that I am not allowed to pick the theater anyone :(

So… for those that don’t know I am OBSESSED with Gucci tassel loafers…such as the ones the very stylish gentleman is wearing in this post… HOWEVER, seeing as though I cannot fathom paying $400+ for such beauties I am forced to settle for the $100 and less versions… I got the camel-ish colored ones last year (I’m working on acquiring the others) and I think I’m gonna whip them out for the first time this summer with some flooding pants, or perhaps some khaki shorts… You think I can pull it off? *I’ll post pics*

"Shit My Dad Says" is a Twitter feed started by Justin Halpern, a semi-employed comedy writer. It consists of quotes made by Halpern's father, Sam, regarding random subjects. Halpern started the account on August 3, 2009, soon after moving from Los Angeles back to his parents' house in San Diego. In less than a month, the page was featured on The Daily Show, a popular San Francisco blog called Laughing Squid and by Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Kristen Bell. As of 13 June 2010, the feed has over 1,406,000 followers.
In September 2009, Halpern found an agent and started sifting through book deals.[3] He signed an agreement with Harper Collins in October 2009. The book based on the feed, Sh*t My Dad Says, was released on May 4, 2010. During its first week, the book reached #8 on the New York Times Best Seller list for hardcover nonfiction.
In November 2009, CBS announced that they were developing a television sitcom based on the twitter feed, which would star William Shatner. The series, officially titled $#*! My Dad Says, was green-lit by CBS in May 2010 and will air on CBS during the 2010-11 season.
