Back in the day/when I was young I'm not a kid anymore...

...But some days, I sit and wish I were a kid again (c) Ahmad

So, I've wanted these shoes ever since I was in the 6th grade... My Mom was not having it! These and the North Carolina Blue and White 11's are the only two pair of shoes that I really regret not having in my childhood (I'm a spoiled brat, so SUE ME! :-p). So, I was truly excited about the retro... HOWEVER, I just really want the original! :(. Check out the difference below

Original...

Retro...

I don't like that the Retro's have replaced the Air Diamond Turf logo with a 2010...BUT, I saw THESE on ebay... So I might have to get the '05 retro for $65 bucks... You can't beat that I guess... Meanwhile, I'll just pray that Nike releases the originals :(

...For those that do want the retro Nike Air Diamond Turf's... they should be dropping sometime in June :)

I have nothing to do with counting the votes. (c) Kenneth Blackwell

Do Better Wednesdays!

Tecora Brown

The 73 year old Ms. Brown was charged with first-degree racketeering and second-degree theft by extortion on April 21st in Superior Court. Yeah, you read right... Ms. Brown was "pimping"... LITERALLY. But get this, she was ratted out by her own son... smh. This truly is a sad story... The son allegedly found seemingly desperate girls from the internet by promising them that having sex for money would be very lucrative for them, and then forced them into prostitution...The prostitution ring also included a niece and a nephew of Tecora Brown... tisk, tisk. :(

Blazing Saddles (c) Mel Brooks

So I saw these saddles on my way to work walking to the Blue Line (the Damen stop), and I couldn't help but snap a pic... Aren't they just beautiful?

I liked these yellow brogue's as well... But I hear the paint chips pretty bad on them so that's a bummer :(

If you want either then make your way to City Soles/Niche... *Warning* the footwear there is NOT cheap, but they do have a layaway plan for you ballers on a budget... lol

My saddles :)

So, the Gorillaz have a new single out called Stylo that features Mos Def and Bobby Womack... Though Mos couldn't make it on the Colbert show tonight to perform it with the rest of the gang... it was still a pretty amazing performance!

For those that aren't familiar with this event... The B.O.M.B (Bring Our Music Back) Fest is kind of a big deal... Frank Bombaci’s (the creator of B.O.M.B.) dream was to create an event where music lovers of all types could come together and appreciate the raw and original bits of music that are slowly seeping away from the mainstream music industry. The concert will showcase a variety of music genres, including Folk, Classical, Rock, and Country, and include the likes of bands such as Lupe Fiasco, Brand New, Jay Electronica, Ra Ra Riot, The Cool Kids, and Roots of Creation.

Bombaci is hosting the event on May 30th, from 12 p.m. to 10pm, at Durham Fairgrounds in Durham, Connecticut. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will benefit two nationally known nonprofits, including SoundMusic CT, an organization dedicated to bringing summer music back to Harkness Park, and Make-a-Wish Foundation. I wish I could be there sooooooo bad! :(
